Alleging that Japanese were smuggled to British Columbia, Captain Macintosh, a. member of the Legislature, is demanding immediately a Dominion census of Japanese. Peaceful penetration is alleged to he capturing control of the fishing. There is only one white at Mayne Island, where formerly there were no Japanese. A brother of an admiral is declared to be island bess of 40 Japanese discharged on the island from a Japanese floating cannery from Alaska. '
The gentlemen’s agreement between Canada and Japan, permitting the annual entry of 150,, is flagrantly violated.
