FLOWER SHOW

HINDS WOMEN’S INSTITUTE. GOOD QUALITY BLOOMS. A very successful spring flower show was held by the Hinds Women’s Institute, in the hall on Wednesday evening, when there was a large attendance of members. Mrs S. Rickard welcomed those, present. The Rev. \V. W. Avery, of Willowby, gave a particularly interesting address on the “Growing of Daffodils.”

On the motion of Mrs S. McKeage, Mr Avery was accorded a i:uriy Vote of thanks. Supper was served by all the members.

Mr Avery, who judged the flowers, commented very favourably upon the quality of the blooms. Awards were as follow: Collection flowers: Mrs S. McKeage 1 and 2. Bowl roses: Mrs C. Elms 1. Tarbotton 2. Bouquet: Airs C. Elms 1. In the Christmas novelties, judged by Airs A. S. Aloffat and Aliss White, Mrs C. Elms was first and Miss M. Frampton second and third.
