SWIMMING.
TEAM FOR EMPIRE GAMES. HON. W. E. PARRY SUGGESTED AS MANAGER CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The Council of the New Zealand SAvimming Association at its annual meeting- last night decided to recommend to the NeAV Zealand Olympic Council that the Hon. W. E. Parry be asked to accept the position of manager of the New Zealand team for the Empire Games, at Sydney. Mr J. W. Toomey, who proposed the motion, said that Mr Parry was the greatest single factor in the country to-day for the Avelfare of sport and the physical development of people. Such an appointment Avould, only be a recognition of Mr (Parry’s work, but Avould greatly add to the prestige of the NeAV Zealand team. The proposal was unanimously .supported. Other recommendations Avere: P. Cbira (Wellington) as sub-manager and Mrs Johnston (Auckland) chaperone. E. C. Isaacs (Dunedin) Avas appointed SAvimming sub-manager.
