Lady Bruce Porter, whose death was announced recently, was among England’s leading charity workers, notably for the Barnardo Homes, and Toe H. She was also one cf the founders of the Women’s Automobile Club, a unique body. MISS LILIAN BAYLISS. (Received This Day, 9.25 a.m.) LONDON, November 25. Miss Lillian Bayliss, manager of the Old Yic Theatre since 1898 and of the Sadler’s Wells Theatre since its reopening in 1931, is dead. As a child she achieved a reputation as a violinist and in her early youth was a concert entertainer in England and South Africa. Miss Bayliss was appointed a Companion of Honour in 1929. At the beginning of this year there were only 11 women members of this Order.
