MODERN PHARMACY.

OPENED BY BONNINGTON’S. AN ATTRACTIVE SHOP. Designed in the latest style and fitted *vith the last word in equipment, all set off by an attractive colour scheme, Messrs Bonnington’s new pharmacy in

East Street is calculated to draw more than passing attention. It has been admired by many people since it was opened recently, and the owner is justly proud of the premises. The object of the lay-out is, apparently, designed to afford the customer the best opportunity for the selection of articles that are not on the customer’s immediate shopping list, and the display bins, with their supply of goods set out for inspection, along the counter space, give this opportunity. Shallowly inset display cubicles have

been installed along the walls and these give the array of articles placed there an attractive background that draws the eye at once. The ceiling and the upper portion of the walls are painted in cream, with a light green relief in the wood battens, while the lower sections of the walls are done out in dark green enamel, which reflects the light from the five large electric fittings enclosing powerful lamps in opaque glass. Sky-lights assist the general lighting effect. Behind a glass panel js the dispensary which is fitted out with a multiplicity of bins and cupboards and racks, while at the same time there is ample space for the staff to move about as they are engaged in their work. There appears to be no doubt that a popular shop has been made even more attractive by the utilisation of modern lay-out.
