YOUTH BRIGADES.

CLOSE OF YEAR SOCIAL. The Boys’ Brigade and The Girls’ Life Brigade concluded their year s work with a successful social evening in the Presbyterian Central Hall at In opening the social the Rev. D. D* MacLaohlan said that during the year The Boys’ Brigade had its ups ana clowns, and for a while had required careful handling. It was gratifying to record that the Company was now in a satisfactory position. He complimented the boys on the neatness of their uniforms, and thanked Lieutenant E. Hight for his valuable help. The Girls’ Life Brigade, under Miss Hight and Miss D. Rooke, had come through its initial difficulties and was now quite a successful unit of church 'work. A duet was given by Olga Laftey and Dorothy Beach, and one by Audrey Watson and Norma Laffey. A pianoforte solo was given by Lance-Corporal T. Wright, and a harmonica piece by Corporal Alan Rooke. Recitations were given by Matel McGuinness and Colleen McGuinness.
