Despite an increase in- the Bank of Prance gold stocks of £21,000,000 for the seven days ended on November 11. largely due to a re-influx of fugitive capital;, the “Epoque” states that M. Bonnet is negotiating with Dutch financiers for a short-term loan to assist France-to repay £40,000,000 to Britain. It is understood that the object of the loan is to obviate the necessity of weakening the gold reserve.
