While Mike’s away on holiday his friends decide that they’ll Do his Spring-cleaning for him. Here’s Smoki with a pail Of water and a scrubbing brush, He works in peace until Bad Desmond paddles in the pail and makes the water spill!
Strong Henrietta drags the chairs and tables out-of-doors, And then gets down upon her knees and polishes the floors. “And what can I do now?” she asks, so friendly and well meaning. “Oil yes, of course, the windows! They will need a thorough cleanins.”
When Bill and Horace finish with dust-pan and with broom, They take down all the carpets from Michael’s dining-room. “I say, let’s renovate the walls,” says Horace with a caper. “Just think how pleased dear Mike would be if we put up new paper!”
Meanwhile, within the kitchen works kindly Celia Cow. She’s very busy baking—What is she making now? She knows that Michael’s birthday is just three days away, And bakes a very Special Cake for that eventful day.
