A Minneapolis message states that Patrick Corcoran, a well-known leader of the American Federation of Labour in the Middle West, was found shot dead, face down in the snow in the street near his home.
A gossip column in the local newspaper last week said: “A prominent Labour leader may be assassinated in a fortnight.”
The writer to-day declared that he had immediately turned his information over to the police. Corcoran’s son disclosed that his father had been beaten and fired on last-.week, but did not recognise his assailant.
