ASHBURTON RACES. A SUCCESSFUL MEETING. The Ashburton County Racing Club’s winter meeting, held on the Ashburton racecourse yesterday, was in every way a success. The attendance was large and the meeting provided patrons with an excellent day of racing and trotting. The totalisator showed a wonderful upward trend, the total handled being £18,756 10s, compared with £9874 for the winter meeting in 1936. The Club is to be congratulated on the success of the meeting and on its enterprise in having the date altered from Saturday to yesterday. Following are the concluding results : TRIAL STAKES.
