THE SINGAPORE BASE.
STORAGE OF FUEL SUPPLIES.

The First Lord of the Admiralty (Sir Samuel Hoare), when questioned in the House of Commons, explained that the fuel tanks at Singapore were above the ground.
Asked whether an air raid would not destroy the tanks anil paralyse shipping, the first Lord replied that the Government was considering the question of underground storage.
