MOTHERS’ UNION.
TINWALD BRANCH MEETING. The first meeting for 1937 of the Tinwald branch of the Alothers’ Union was held on Wednesday afternoon. The Vicar the (Rev. H. A. Childs) conducted the devotional service in St. Andrew’s Church, giving a short address. Airs Roffey was organist. The meeting was continued in the Parish Hall, whore ->rrs C. Jennings presided. A motion of sympathy was passed to Airs E. Bell in her illness and Airs C. Bell was appointed to take her place as tea secretary. The secretary (Airs' Bayliss) read an interesting letter from the linked branch in England, Bury St. Edmund's. Airs Hopwood reported on a festival members' attended at Alethven. Airs Jennings read an article on “World Peace,” and the part to be taken by 'the Alothers’ Union in attaining this happy condition. Airs Jennings welcomed Airs Childs, wife of the vicar, wishing her happiness on behalf of the branch. Airs A. J. Petrie, on behalf of the rural deanery spoke words of welcome, hoping Airs Childs would enjoy the work of the Union, which was so- important a part of the church liie. It was announced that the next meeting would be the annual one.
