THREAT TO THE TEST.
A CARPENTERS’ DISPUTE
(United Pres 9 Association —Copyright.)
MELBOURNE, February 18. Trouble is threatened for the final test match, because of a dispute with men employed on a new grandstand. A number of carpenters are claiming for lost time, when they were put off during the last test. Their claim amounts to £57 6s, which the Y ictorian Cricket Association refuses to pay contending that it is entirely a matter for the contractor. The men’s union threatens to invite all unionists to boycott the final Test and to picket the ground.
