The weather was fine, with an easterly breeze, for the dhristcliurch Jockey Club’s summer meeting, and the trade at lliccarton was in good order. The attendance was fair, and the totalisator (win and place) handled £20,271, against £10,522 10s last year, when the weather was unfavourable. Concluding results: —

Halswell Handicap, of 200 sovs; about nine furlongs.—l (1) Willie Win (A. E. Ellis) 1, 4 (4) Sovereign Lady 2, 3 (3). Recollection 3. Won by two lengths. Time, 1.52 1-5. The Wellington Trotting Club’s summer meeting was concluded at Hutt Park to-day. The weather was fine and the track fast. There lyas am excellent attendance and the totalisator handled £28,031, against £12,350 10s on the second clay last year (a Monday), making a total for the meeting of £42,137 10s, against £29,952 10s last year, an increase of £18,185. Concluding results: Koro Ivoro Handicap', of 150 sovs'; unhoppled trotters, 4.59 class; two miles —1-2 Swordsman 48 (Smith) 1, 3-4 Captain Bolt 84 2, 4-1 Walter Wrack GO 3. Dan’s Son led throughout and won by half a head, with half a head between second and third. Time, 3.20 4-5. Dan’s Son was purchased in the sale ring for 11 guineas. His sire was Dan Bells. The attendance was 40,000.
