(Received) This Day, 10.55 a.m.) At tho request of Mr Soong, hostilities against the rebels will bo suspended for three days to facilitate negotiations for tho release ol Marshal Chiang Kai-shek. SETTLEMENT MAY BE REACHED. LONDON, December 22. The Shanghai correspondent of “Tho Times” says that Marshal Chiang Kaishek’s wife, Mr T. V. Soong, his son-in-law, and Mr W. 11. Donald, his adviser, have flown to Sianiu, the centre of the revolt. This is regarded l as indicating a -settlement; otherwise the generalissimo would have prohibited his wife from taking the risk.
