WAKANUI CREEK AND DRINKING WATER.

Sir, —As one living on Wakanui Creek, I wish to warn farmers that a creek passing through a township is definitely unfit to use for drinking. In spite of the vigilance of council officials, filthy refuse is dumped regularly into the creek by seemingly completely irresponsible people. The water may sparkle across a large farm, but it seems to me it can never rid itself of what it collects in the township. Anyone interested would ho wise to take heed.
