MANY NAMES TAKEN.
POLICE RAID ON A WHARF. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, September 7. A crowd of about 200 men dispersed in all directions on the Central Wharf to-day when a party of 13 police suddenly appeared. It is alleged that the police found money, a crown and anchor board, and other gaming material. The names of 40 men were taken, and Magistrate’s Court proceedings are expected.
