DEATH AFTER TETANUS
ERROR IN REPORT CORRECTED. United Press Association—Copyright.) (Received This Day, 9.45 a.in.) LONDON, September 6. A correction to a message sent on Saturday morning read: Arthur Gargett, companion of Joseph Smith, the air-rigger who was sentenced for theft of an aeroplane, died of tetanus after an operation. He was not connected with Mrs Markham’s flight.
Cabled messages published on Saturday stated that Smith had died and that Gargett was accompanying Mrs Markham on her flight across the Atlantic.
