MINIATURE RIFLES.
THE ASHBURTON CLUB. A return match with the Staveley Club was fired by members of the Ashburton Miniature Rifle Club on the local range on Wednesday. Although the scoring throughout was very close, the standard of shooting was below the average. Teams of 14 men each took part in the match (10 best scores to count), the visitors winning by one point. Scores: Staveley—L. Bansgrove 75, X. Hadler 76, J. Fagan 74, M. Bruce 78, M. Johnstone 79, I. Hart 77, E. E. Burgess 78, E.‘ Hart 79, J. Taylor 77, E. G. Burgess 76—total 769. Ashburton—L. McNatty 75, T. F. Smith 77, H. Shierlaw 76, A. J. Shepherd 78, R. Childs 75, F. Porter 77, G.
