ANNUAL CONFERENCE.

GRASSLANDS ASSOCIATION. PALMERSTON N., August 21. A reconstitution of the general committee to secure full representation of all interests, and the enlarging of the scope of the organisation, was decided upon at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Grasslands Association, whose four days’ conference ended to-day. It was decide'd that the genei'al committee include a representative each from Canterbury College, the Cawthron Institute, the Department of Agriculture’, the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, and Massey College, beside practising farmers and commercial interests. It was resolved that the next conference bo held in Dunedin. The annual report showed the year to be a successful one’. Paid membership increased, and the funds showed a good credit balance. Sir Francis Frazer was re-elected patron and Mr A. H. Cockayne (Director-Gen-eral of Agriculture’) w r as elected, president. Mr R. P. Connell was appointed secretary.
