FIVE-SHILLING NOTES.
AN AUSTRALIAN PROPOSAL. United Press Association—Copyright; (Received This Day, 11.25 a.m.) CANBERRA, This Day. The Federal Treasurer (Mr Casey) will place before Cabinet a proposal for the issue of five shilling notes. Mr Casey said he had considered the inconvenience caused to the public by lack of a monetary token of a value between two shillings and. ten shillings, and he believed the issue of five shilling notes would prevent weighing down pockets by loose silver.
