BOXING.
McMAHON DEFEATS PLUTO. (Per Press Association.'PALMERSTON NORTH, Aug. 21. Jack McMahon (Palmerston North) was given the decision oyer Cyril Pluto at the end, of the fifteenth round. The West Australian champion outboxed McMahon for eight rounds, but tlie latter was gaining confidence as the bout progressed and bad the better of the concluding stages. He made a whirlwind attack in the last round, in which ’he connected with several very solid rights to the jaw. This swung the decision in his favour.
