GERMAN EMIGRE’S EVIDENCE. STALIN’S SUPPORTER MENACED. United Press Association—Copyright! (Received This Day, 9.10 a.m.) MOSCOW, August 21. At the treason triaf to-day, the) chief evidence was given by a German emigre, Nathan Luria, that he intended to kill M. Stalin's right-hand supporter, Zhdanov, but ho was too far from the tribune to shoot him. Earlier he’ failed, at the Kremlin Hospital, to get close enough to M. Stalin and Voroshilov.
The confessions made by the accused have implicated at least 15 other prominent men, who have alre’ady been arrested. They include M. Sokolikoff (exAmbassador to London), M. Bukharin (editor of “Izvetia”), M. Tomsky (expresident of the Federation of Trade Unions), M. Rykoff (Chairman of Communications) and M. Rade'k (leader writer of “Izvestia”).
