ASHBURTON RUGBY UNION MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE The Management Committee of the Ashburton Rogby Union met last even—ing, when there were present Messrs H. R. D'. Porter (chairman), J. C. C. The manager reported on the Town v. Country match at Methven on Saturday, saying that a. good game was played with excellent spirit. The lighter Town forwards played well toward the finish and it looked as if they might pull the game out of the fire.

The New Zealand Rugby Union ask—ed for nominations for the South Island team. This was referred to the selector (Mr G. Day). The Canterbury Rugby Union advised that the date of the match between its Colts team and Ashburton had been deferred until the itinerary of the 23am for its north-em tour was arrang-
