TAGS ON TENDERS NOT ALLOWED ANTICIPATING LEGISLATION. (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The Public Works Department has intimated to tenderers for Departmental contracts that in future it will not allow "tags" to be added to tenders, making provision that quotations are subject to adjustment in the light of amendments to the Industrial, Conciliation, and Arbitration Act. In recent months it has become customary for such provision to be added to tenders, and some of those received by the Public Works Department for the erection of the iStyx railway overbridge were "tagged" in this way. None of the tenders for this work have been accepted, and the contract is to be readvertised. with instructions that no "tags" are to be attached to tenders.
