MATCH PLOUGHING.
THE RAKAIA ASSOCIATION. Mr \V. Shellock, president, presided at a. meeting of the Raliaia Ploughing Match Association. Alter hearing a report from a, sub—committee set up to get offers of suitable paddocks, in which to hold the match, it was decided to accept 50 acres in Hatfield, offered by Mr Hugh Wilkinson. Reports on the conference of delegates held the previous day at Rakaia were presented by the president and Messrs L. O. Oakley and A. Holmes. The date chosen for the Rakaia match, July 23, had been approved. The secretory reported that already numerous special prizes and donations had been received.
The pl'ogrmnme was approved with minor alterations. It. was decided to have a high out claSs and to withdraw a. condition about the numbers of entries. An open tractor class has also been included.
Judges for ploughing, teams, and decorations, and- class stewards were ap—pointed. The social committee was renelccted with one addition.
Arrangements for catering were left in the hands of Messrs B. McNamara and T. Reid. It was decided to defer until next meeting the allocation of asiucial prizes.
