LOVELOCK’S THREE-MILE .- RECORD. LONDON, June 13. In an inter-club match for the Kin—naird Trophy at the White City, Lovelock, representing the Achilles Clu-b, won the three miles in 14min 20 1-ssec, a, record for the contest, heating Hadland, of the Polytechnic, by 12 yards. The New Zeahmder, running easily with the leaders throughout the race, sprinted over the final: 100 yards, and won amid enthusiasm. Brown won the 100 yards in 9.B‘sec, beating Sweeney, the British and Elll— Games champion, by inches. Brown won the quarter-mile in 48.3 sec, a record for the contest, beating, Rampling, the British recordrholder, by a yard. NURMI’S RECORD BROKEN. NEW‘ YORK, June 14. Donald Ray Lash, aged 22, an Indiana. University student, at Princeton to—day shattered Paavo Nurmi’s twoamile record. Lash’s time was Bmin 58 368%, compared with: Bmin 59.65ec established in 1931 by Nurmi.
