LITTLE ENTENTE

CO-ORDINATION 0F DEFENCE. CHIEFS! OF STAFFS CONFER. "" 1 WEAKENESDI SECURITY FEAR-ED. 1 (United Press Association-Copyrilght.) (Received This Day, 11 mm.) ‘ BUCHA’REST, June 14. In accordance with the arrangements the chiefs of staffs of the Czechoslovakian and Yugoslavian armies, accompanied by representatives of the principal sections, have arrived here to begin a five days’ conference aiming at coordination of the Little Entente’s defences. The problems to be discussed include unification of armaments and the establislnnent of new armament works in Rumania and Yugoslavia, which will co-operate with the Czechoslovakian factories. The convocation of the conference is regarded in diplomatic circles as an indication of the seriousness with which the Little Entente views the situation in conse—quence of the weakening of the League and the breakdown of collective se-cur-ity.

A ‘London cablegram published last Tuesday stated: The Bucharest correspondent of the “Daily Mail” says important decisions were reached at a secret conference of heads of’ the little Entente when King Carol entertained Prince Paul of Yugoslavia and Dr. E. Benes (president of Czechoslovakia). It is understood that in View of the grave European situation and events in France, the Entente will be trans—formed into a complete alliance, resulting in the chiefs of the general staffs of the three countries meeting next Sunday. It is believed that the possibility of the restoration of the flapsburgs, which the Entente fears, was discussed.
