SECON'D PART OF SESSION. END EXPECTED IN OCTOBER. (Per Press Association.) \VE-LLINGT‘ON, June 12. Outlining the Government’s intenr tions in the second part of the session the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon M, J. Savage) said to-day that he saw no reason why Parliament should not adjourn by the end of October. There were still a number of important mat—ters to be dealt with, notably the mortgage legislation and the presentation of the Budget, but three months should be sufficient to see the end of the session. Next year the House prob—ably would not meet until he returned from. the Imperial Conference, probably some time in August. Mr Savage said that no definite Pub—lic Works schedule had yet been decided upon. The Government felt if it Were fitting to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Dominion in 1940 in some substantial form, what better monument could there be than completing a number of public works? The Government was determined to go ahead with, a vigorous policy and if it had not the men in. the service at pre—sent to do the job, it would see that the men were engaged from outside. The matter of completion of Parliament buildings was mentioned, and Mr Savage replied that it- secmed likely that the Government would have to complete those. in addition to the erection of other public buildings that were necessary. ‘ \
