SYMBOL OF MOURNING.
PROPOSAL TO DISCARD IT. (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, April 14. \ A proposal that the gun carriage described as the main symbol of mourning in the Anzac Day procession m Christchurch he not included ,in the procession this iyear was discussed by the executive of the Christchui ch branch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association to-night, and divergent views were expressed. Some urged that the more mournful features of the procession should be dropped, among them the gun carriage, and others argued that the day was one of commemoration, certainly not one of rejoicing. It was decided to refer the question to the annual • meeting.
