PREMIER IN FILM.

MESSAGE TO BRITISH EMPIRE. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, April 14. That he had recently made a newsreel “talkie” at the invitation of a film company was mentioned by the Prime Minister (the Hon. M. J. Savage) during an address social given by the Wellington 'Labour Representation Committee in the Trades Hall last night in honour of the delegates attending the annual conference of the New Zealand Labour Party. Mr Savage said the text of his newsreel, which he addressed to the people of the British Commonwealth of Nations, was as follows: “We are the first Labour Government in the world to receive an oyerwhelming mandate from the people to give effect to an advanced programme of social and economic reform. New Zealand was looked upon at one time as the social laboratory of the world. Wo are looking forward: to occupying again our place in the vanguard of human progress. It is our intention to make New Zealand a nation of buyers as well as sellers, and to make science, machinery and money the servants and not the masters of the people.
