ENGLAND DEFEATS FRANCE. (Received This Day, 1.5 p.m.) LONDON, April 13. England defeated France by 16 to 8 in a Rugby match at Halifax. MINIATURE RIFLES. THE WILLOWBY CLUB. r ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The annual meeting of the Wdlowby Miniature Rifle Club was held last week. The report, given by the captain (Mr Mac Kay), was most satisfactory, the year being successful throughout. Officers were elected as follows: Patron, Mr John H. Grigg; president, Mr S. P. Taylor; vice-presidents, Mesdames Alfred Cass and Maginness, Messrs J. Keith, W. H. Ingram, J. Walls, E. Soal, J. McQuilkin, G. Bowman ; captain, Mr T. Mac Kay; vicecaptain, Mr L. Pratley; secretary and treasurer, Mr D. R. Mac Kay; assistant secretary, Mr B. Mac Kay; committee, Messrs T. Mac Kay, L. Pratley, D. R. Mac Kay, J. Patterson, B. Merrill, T. Dalton,' and J. Maginness; handicapper, Mr T. Mac Kay; custodian, Mr L. Pratley.
It was decided to open the season next Monday.
