LONGBEACH AFFAIRS.
MEETING OF ROAD BOARD. The Longbeach Road Board met yesterday afternoon, when there were present-: Messrs J. P. McQuilkin (chairman), J. HI. Grigg, L. Maginness and H. Watts. . , . , The Department of Labour advised that Thursday had been fixed as the statutory half-holiday in the board s district. , The overseer reported that the flood had done a good deal of damage in the board’s district. Any dangerous washout had been remedied but a lot of metalling work would be held up as the shingle pits were full of water. The bank pass-book showed a credit balance of £3ll 5s 3d.
