THE NATIONAL MEETING, CROXTON WINS LONG-RANGE BELT. (Per Press Association.) TRENTHAM, March 9. Tricky conditions were experienced for the afternoon’s shooting in the Taranaki Match, 10 rounds at 800 yards, and the Whitoombe and Caldwell Match, 10 rounds at 900 yards, which was fired, in bright sunshine. A troublesome mirage shimmered in front of the targets, and a fluctuating breeze required frequent sight changes to keep pace with its variations. In spite of these possibles were frequent at both ranges. The Bisley Aggregate, awarded for the highest aggregate scores in the long-range belt matches, was won by H. V. CVoxton (Karori) with 196, a loss of four points only for the four ranges. He will hold for one year the Croxton Cup, which lie himself presented to the National Rifle Association for competition in long-range shooting. The King’s Fifty. The annual meeting of members of the National Rifle Association was held last night. Dr. A. F. R. Crawford (Invercargill) was re-elected president. Proposals submitted by the executive to give direct representation to districts not previously represented on the executive were approved, and the following delegates were elected in accordance with this decision: —C. J. M. Clark (Auckland) and J. Soler (Wanganui-Taranaki-Manawatu), L. E. Braithwaite (Hawke’s Bay-Poverty Bay), C. J, Nix (Wairarapa), H. V. Croxton (Wellington-Horowhenua), W. N.
