IMPORTANT MEETINGS PENDING. SEVERAL. HIGH APPOINTMENTS. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, March 9. Important decisions will be reac e at a series of .Cabinet meetings to be held this week. This week, however, the Cabinet will turn its attention to questions affecting e control the public service and the Government of the mandated territory of Western Samoa as well as other matters. The appointment of a Public Service Commissioner or Commissioners will come up for consideration, as also will the selection of an Administrator of Samoa. The appointment of two Government directors on the Board of Directors of the Bank ot New Zealand also will be made by the Cabinet this week. .... , In addition to the administrative questions mentioned, the Cabinet will shortly be cal lea upon to discuss the most important feature ot its economic policy, the application of guaranteed prices. A committee of departmental heads and experts has been engaged on the problem for a number of weeks, and it has now submitted its report to the Minister of Finance (Hon. W. Nash) whose duty it will be to submit proposals to the Cabinet. It is undeistood that the committee has not recommended any definite scheme, but has submitted several alternative schemes to the Minister, whose task it v/ill he to make a selection of the one he considers to he best suited to New Zealand’s needs. Once the selection is made, it will be necessary to work out the scheme in greater detail than has yet been attempted.
