PRICES AT INVERCARGILL. ADVANCE ON RECENT RATES. (Per Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, March 6. The second Invercargill wool sale of the season was held to-day and was most satisfactory, the rates ruling. at recent auctions in other centres being more than maintained. There was. a keen demand right through the catalogue and prices on an average were three-farthings to a penny better than at the first sale here. There was a full bench of buyers, and the Continent, Japan, and Bradford buyers weie the main operators. Local .mills and fellmongers competed freely. There was very spirited competition for ciossbred wools, which improved on the better values for this class that have been ruling at recent northern sales. A catalogue of 25,233 bales was offered, and there was an excellent clearance, passings being very few indeed. Range of values. The range of prices was:—
