THE LABOUR PARTY.

ASHBURTON BRANCH MEETING. The Ashburton branch of the New Zealand Labour Party held its annual meeting in the Orange Hall last evening, the president (Air W. Bryant) presiding over a good attendance. The secretary reported that the membership had shown a steady growth since the formation of the branch. The work for the year was considered very satisfactory. Officers elected were:—-President, Air W. Bryant; vice-president, Air A. Wallis; secretary and treasurer, Air C. J. Rudd; executive, Alessrs W. Hickey, C. Butterworth, J. Turner, AV. F. O’Neill, and J. Moyl’an. Arrangements were made for Messrs H. E. Herring, M.P., AV. Bryant, and C. J. Rudd to address meetings at Leestou and Rakaia- next week, with a view to the establishment of new branches.
