THE SOUTH AFRICAN MARKET. (United Press Association— Copyright.) LONDON, February 6. A new development in industiial 10lations is marked by the announcement that an agreement for a period of five years was signed in London yesterday between the South African Iron and Steel Corporation (representing the iron and steel producers of the South African International Iron and Steel Cartel) and the British Iron and Steel Federation, by which the requirements * of South African producers to the extent to which they can meet these demands by the importation of the balance controlled by the British Iron and Steel Federation. The cartel is to be regulated in such a manner as to ensure the most suitable source of supply. Prices will be stabilised at an economic level, calculated to stimulate consumption of iron and steel in the South African market, the development oi which by a policy of constructive co-op-eration is one of the principal objects of the agreement.—British Official Wireless.
