AUSTRALIAN CLERGYMAN. (United Press Association—Copyright) MELBOURNE, February 7. Archbishop Jfcad to-day ordered the removal of the Rev. H. E, Hayes from the Mernda Pastorate. The Rev. H. E. Hayes, an Anglican minister of Mernda, was found guilty by the Ecclesiastical Court of charges of false doctrine, and “conduct disgraceful to a clergyman and productive -of scandal and eviL report.” The Court called upon him to resign, otherwise ho would be removed from his parish. The Court’s finding was delivered to Archbishop Head, who, it was stated, could exercise his prerogative of mercy by reducing the penalty. Archbishop Head refused an appeal for a new trial.
