ST. JAMES THEATRE. “Joy Hide,” the amusing film featuring Gene Garrard, Zelma O’Neal, Paul Blake and Betty Davies, will have its final screening at the St. James Theatre to-night. It is a tale full of action and laughs. With Mary Astor, Lyle Talbot and John Halliday heading the cafct' r “The Return of the Terror,’* showing tomorrow night and on Friday, gets off to a false start, after which the suspense is maintained to, the fade-out, in court where Dr. Redmayne is on trial for poison-murdering several patients in the so-called Terror Case. Redmayne consents to plead insanity, and is sent to an institution, with plans made to re-open the case soon. Burke, the lawyer, fails to re-open the case, and Redmayne resorts to a ruse and escapes from the sanitarium. From there on the thrills of-“ The Return of the Terror’’ mount in intensity as word of Redmayne’s escape coincide with the arrival at the sanitarium of two toughlooking men, Pudge and Soapy. As a violent storm rages, a scream is heard, and Redmayne’s presence is reported. He tries to hide and is blackjacked. The story is Edgar Wallace’s.
