NEW TOTALISATOR. WELLINGTON RACING CLUB. WELLINGTON, February 3. A decision to install a new Julius totalisator has been made by the stewards of the Wellington Racing Club. It is hoped to have the new machine in full operation at the club’s spring meeting in October. The new Julius totalisator enables racegoers to purchase both . win and place tickets at one window simultaneously. The installation of new. apparatus will also involve the provision of more windows, which will relieve the congestion so frequently experienced under the present system. The new totalisator will make the Trentham racecourse one of the most up-to-date in the world.

TROTTING CARNIVAL. VISITORS WIN AT PERTH. PERTH, February 3. Evicus.and Emilius Way arrived in excellent fettle for the inter-Dominion championships, accompanied by Messrs H. F. Rudd, E. Brown (who was forced to leave Roi ,I’Or in Melbourne), Iree Holmes and C. IDarman. Visiting competitors, on their second appearance, won both divisions of the Executive Handicap, of one mile and a half. Logan Derby (38 yards behind) won the first division by a yard. Auburn Lad was fourth and Wirra Walla fifth. The times for a mile were: 2.12*, 2.12*, 2.13, 2.14*. The second, division was brilliantly won by a yard and a half by Speedy Boy. The times for a mile were: 2.12*, 2.14*, 2.14*. Logan Derby has already won four cups, and will possibly be taken to New Zealand on his return to Tasmania.
