BOROUGH RATES.
OVER 91 PER CENT. COLLECTED. SUM OF £'oo2 19 OUTSTANDING. The collection of Ashburton Borough rates this year has been very satisfactory, the amount handed in at the offices up to the end of the period before the imposition of the 10 per cent, penalty for late payment being 91.04 per cent, of the total oi £10,075 19s 9d, leaving £902 3s' Id outstanding. This is the highest collection made in the last three years, as the folloAving figures show: —
