PEACE IN THE FAR EAST. MISSION AS SEA EMPIRE. (Received This Day, 12.35 P >rn -) LONDON, Jan. 16. The Toldo correspondent of “The Times” says that the Minister of finance (Admiral Osumi) ignored the possibilities of the completion of i Tacme fortifications, and pointed out that the navy feels that its responsibilities have been doubled, and will redouble its efforts. Peace will result from respecting the principle of and non-aggression. The nation must realise its mission as a sea empire. Internally it must increase its national power, and externally uphold national prestige; taking the responsibility foi peace in the Far East. Admiral Osumi has summoned the fleet and base commanders to a conference next Monday.
