JAPAN AND CHINA.
DEFENSIVE ALLIANCE MOOTED. (United Press Association— Copyright) (Received This Day, 9.5 a.m.) TOKIO 1 , January 10. The advisability of China concluding an offensive and defensive alliance with Japan is urged by Admiral Seigo Nagano, the prominent Japanese .politician in an interview with the newspaper' "Nichr Nichi." Hepoints out that under subh an alliance, '; Japan would guarantee China, '.'against invasion by any non-Asiatic influence and would also take the initiative in promoting Chinese industries. Prominence is given to the interview which suggests that a scheme is afoot to replace the present Nine Power Pact, by guaranteeing the integrity of China by a Sino-Japanese treaty, whereunder Japan alone would guarantee the integrity of China. ~ , , - .;., ;
