THE SECOND TEST TEAM. NO M.C.C. CHANGE LIKELY. WELLINGTON, January 10. The members of the Marylebone Cricket Club team "who were on the injured list are now quite recovered, according to E. 11. T. Holmes, captain of the team, which arrived at Wellington to-day. Holmes, however, is troubled by an injury to his hand, received in stopping a fast ball during the match with New Zealand at Dunedin. The hand is so badly bruised that unless it improves very considerably he will be unable to play in the next match. He hopes the injury will respond readily to treatment, and that he will be able to lead his side in the second match with JSew Zealand. ■ ... t In the meantime, the intention or the captain is that the -team shall be the same as that which phiyed at Dunedin, though it is possible that by Friday some change may be necessary. NEW ZEALANDERS IN FIJI. MASSEY BATS AND BOWLS WELL. SUVA, January 15. Fiji made 149 in its first innings against the New Zealand cricketers (Cakoban 22, Wiliami 23, Wendt 34, Forster not out 19). Massey bowled unchanged, and took eight wickets for 60 runs. , , . . _ The New Zealanders (first ramno 234) in their second innings scored 14J (Vinond 26, Wyatt 0, Sandfcrd 2 Walter 0, Massey 38, Riley 0, Bright 18, Renshaw 9, Sutherland 15, Andrews 10 not out; extras 18). Massey played a fighting knock and staved oft a rot after lunch. Cakoban was again the best bowler. He took three wickets tor 26, Turaga three for 40, Rennie two for 21. . . , Fiji in their second innings scored 19 for no wickets. The match will be resumed to-morrow. TEAMS FOR SATURDAY.
