WOMEN'S DIVISION.
NEW ZEALAND CONFERENCE.
(Per Press Association.) HAMILTON, Jan. 15. The Dominion conference oi the Women's Division of the New Zealand Farmers' Union was officioJ> opened at Hamilton to-day. .1 here was a large attendance. Two hundred delegates are accommodated in the nign school hostel, where the meetings are also being held. . Speaking at the official opening, tin Minister for" Agriculture (the Hon \V. Lee Martin) said the work of the division called for the hipliosl commendation, particularly durum the ast few years, when the country had faced manv difficult problems. "The division has done much good for the less fortunate classes of the community," the Minister said. Ihe real reason for the crises might he found in three words—Mammon versus God." The Governmenl asked For the co-operation and assistance ot the women of the community in carrying out its plans. Mr Lee Martin added that the policy of guaranteed prices was no catch cry. It would serve to remove much drudgery from the fanner's life. Later, remits were considered at a meeting of the Dominion executive of the division, and reports were presented to the conference, which will conclude on Friday.
