'BUS WORKERS ON STRIKE.
THE PUBLIC CONVENIENCE

A precedent was created when the Government Traffic Commissioner used his powers to order motor-'bus workers at Southampton, who have been striking since January 1, hack to. work.. He declared that his decision had nothing to do with the merits of the dispute, and that the public convenience must come first.
The Commissioner also ordered the employers to resume the 'bus services, else he would consider revoking their licenses. Employers and men would he given an opportunity of stating their eases in an emergency court under the provisions of the Road Act.
