ATHLETICS.
HINDS AMATEUR CLUB. The Hinds Amateur Athletic Club met on Saturday evening in the Domain building. Mr H. Henderson (senior vice-president) occupied the chair. The newly-elected secretary (Mr E. Andrews) took up his duties. Mr J. Joiner was elected a life member in recognition of his valuable services durin<>- his term as a member of the committee. A motion of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mr Connolly, was carried in silence. It was decided to hold the sports gathering on April 4 A tug-of-war will not be held this year, but a shot put event was added to the programme. The three-mile steeplechase will be discontinued, and replaced by a 440 hurdle event lwo open piping events were added to the piping events. The following were added to the committee:—Messrs J. Ha,ll, C. King and Wilson.
