EVEREST ASCENT
ANOTHER EXPEDITION LEAVING. GREAT HOPE OF SUCCESS. . (United Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, January 9. "We have greater- reason to hope for success than ever before," Mr Hugh Rutledge (leader of the Everest Expedition of 1933) told the "Daily Telegraph," recounting the preparations for another attempt to scale the peak. The team consists of first-rate men, ten of whom have had previous Himalayan experience. One great objective will he to place an additional "camp higher than the highest camp in 1933, and a good deal nearer the summit, probably within 1200 feet. Even from the additional camp, it will take the party abour 15 hours to reach the summit and return. The climbers will have half an hour at the top at the most. Mi- Ruttledge will leave for India on July 31. The expedition will start from Kaiimuong (Bengal) on March 20.
