Pointed criticism of the method adopted by the New Zealand Olympic and British Empire Games Association in appointing managers of overseas teams was expressed this evening at a meeting of the Otago Swimming Centre by the president, Mr W. A. Jenkins, when a reply was received from the association to a letter from the Centre urging the claims of Mr E. C. Isaacs as manager of the Olympic team. Mr H. Amos, secretary of the Olympic Council, wrote pointing out that several members of the council had prior claims, which drew from Mr Jenkins the remark that it was about time the Olympic Council was given to* understand tliat nil the plums could not go to Wellington, and sporting organisations should take a firm stand. The meeting stated that the Centro should not let the matter rest, but further action was deferred pending advice from the New Zealand Swimming Council as to what it is prepared to do.
